A graphic on my series inspired on the Vampire: The Mascarade RPG, as a follow up to Padriac My Prince and Forever In Darkness. In this case, a female Lasombra. This graphic presented a problem to me on a conceptual level. Even as an avid player of this RPG, I personally can't make the conceptual jump to a "mass of tentacles that look like a stain of ink", so I decided to colaborate with my good friend and Word Of Darkness storyteller David Nieto, and he created some wonderful tentacles that meet the canon of the core game, flowing behind and in front of the character, and yet keeping that "ink" quality. When in doubt, always consult with the expert.
Another problem was also the character's texturing. In cinema, we seldom see "true black", as it get lost in the film. I had here the same problem: the main virtue of an assassin that conceals in shadows is actually get lost in them. So I kept as possible the character visible, and yet concealed within gamma values that allow us to see her war-face expression and some features of her stealthy posture, reasonably speaking. Yes, the graphic is dark. Yes, the character gets lost in the black elements. And if you know a little about the game, that's how is supposed to be. Nevertheless, I hope you all enjoy this graphic.
This entire series is dedicated to someone who's always there and keeps always my compass pointed in the right direction:
